How does Strength Training Help Your Bones?
Strength training is a highly effective method for enhancing bone density, strength, balance, and mobility.
Moreover, it plays a crucial role in reducing the risk of falls and fractures and is particularly beneficial for those who have Osteopenia or Osteoporosis.
The Liftmor Trial (Lifting Intervention for Training Muscle and Osteoporosis Rehabilitation) was a defining study and has made a very positive impact to our knowledge in this area.

What is The Liftmor Study?
Australian researchers published groundbreaking results from the LIFTMOR study in 2018 in the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research.
This study revealed that postmenopausal women who followed the LIFTMOR exercise programme showed significantly greater improvements in both lumbar spine and femoral neck bone mineral density (BMD) compared to a control group following a different exercise regime.
The LIftmor Study had a strong emphasis on exercise technique and professional supervision to maximise benefits and minimise risk.

Our Approach and Experience
With 25 years of experience training people from diverse backgrounds, the most effective method has been to keep things simple while adding an element of fun.
By keeping things straightforward and engaging, people tend to learn better and retain information more effectively. This approach not only makes the learning process enjoyable but also ensures that participants are more likely to stay motivated and committed.
For those with Osteopenia or Osteoporosis, I design customised workouts. These include the four key Liftmor Study exercises which are Deadlifts, Overhead Presses, Back Squats and Jumping movements with impact loading. I combine these with a range of functional movements and exercises to improve balance and overall fitness.
